If you have just got your new tattoo, you really need to take all the right precautionary measures to make sure it doesn’t get infected. In order to keep its vibrant colors last for a long time, you have to follow some aftercare tips. Because at this point, you are fully responsible for any infection or disease you may have with your new tattoo. It’s highly recommended that you follow all the important aftercare steps so that your seamless tattoo will stay last longer.

Cover the Tattoo:

The tattoo artist covers your new tattoo for some weeks for a good reason. Your tattoo needs to be properly covered so that no bacteria will invade your wound. The open area of your tattoo will be a breeding surface for harmful bacteria. After getting a new tattoo, leave your bandage for at least 2-3 hours. The more you cover your tattoo, the better it will be looking. There are many tattoo shops in which tattoo artists use plastic wraps to cover the tattoos. However, you can remove your bandage if the tattoo artist covered your tattoo with a plastic wrap. These types of plastic wraps are very harmful to your skin, you should remove these wraps immediately. Because it’s better to not have a bandage covering than to suffocate your new tattoo with plastic wrap.

Wash the Tattoo

Once you remove your bandage, it’s time to carefully wash your tattoo. Use any anti-bacterial liquid or soap and then rinse with lukewarm water. You can use organic ointments recommended by a good tattoo artist to clean any blood or plasma and the surrounding area of your tattoo. Never use any washcloth or textured material that is abrasive as it may affect your skin. Using your hands is the best option. In the early days of your tattoo, you will feel your tattooed skin a bit slimy and slippery. Don’t worry as this would happen because of oozing plasma. Just try to gently remove as much as possible. Even when the plasma starts to dry on the surface of the tattoo, it will begin to create scabs. Whether you go for vegan tattooing or not, still you need to follow all these useful instructions for aftercare. So once you properly clean your tattoo, you need to pat dry your tattoo and the surrounding area gently with a paper towel or soft tissue. Next, you need to apply any organic ointment such as lavender or tea tree oil. Use the ointment and cover the entire tattoo and surrounding area. You may also use vitamin A&D enriched ointment or an anti-bacterial ointment. Do not use Neosporin as it is not good for your new tattoo, it could fade your tattoo and cause severe allergy on your skin. So don’t take this risk!

Apply Specialty Products & Effective Lotions

Use specialty products for the next 3-5 days. After that, continue to clean your tattoo and follow the same steps. You can now start applying any natural lotion when needed, this will help keep your skin smooth and soft. Always use fragrance-free lotion on your new tattoo.
